This 1993 EP, featuring the band's interpretation of The Grateful Dead's "Friend of the Devil," was released on Elektra Records. It included live versions of "These Are the Days" and "Candy Everybody Wants" alongside the studio cut.

10,000 Maniacs formed in Jamestown, NY, blending folk-rock with a distinctive new wave sensibility, fronted by the distinctive vocals of Natalie Merchant. The band was at a commercial peak in 1993, following the massive success of their 1992 album 'Our Time in Eden'.
