- The original lineup featured Udo Dirkschneider on vocals, Wolf Hoffmann and Frank Friedrichs on guitars, Peter Baltes on bass, and Dieter Rubach on drums. After a difficult recording process, the album was released on the Brain label, a subsidiary of Metronome.
- The album's title track, "I'm a Rebel," was notably covered by the band as a tribute to the late Bon Scott of AC/DC. This debut release failed to make a significant commercial impact upon its initial release.
