The group's second single, released in late 2006, marked their first release on the Sony Music Labels Inc. imprint. It became their first single to chart within the top 20.

AKB48 is a Japanese idol girl group, formed in 2005. They are one of the best-selling music acts of all time, known for their large number of members and regular "janken" tournaments. The group's debut single "Sakura no Hanabiratachi" was released earlier in 2006.
