Altered Images are a Scottish new wave band formed in 1979, originally consisting of vocalist Clare Grogan, guitarist Graeme Edgerley, bassist Johnny McElhone, and drummer Tony McGovern. They gained popularity in the early 1980s with their distinctive blend of synth-pop and post-punk, fronted by Grogan's energetic vocals. By 2023, Altered Images had reformed and were actively releasing new material, positioning them as enduring figures in the UK indie scene.
