"Purgatory" is Borealis's fourth album, a concept record exploring themes of damnation and redemption. It marked a shift towards a more accessible sound while retaining their signature progressive and doom metal roots.
- The album was recorded at Croton Sound Studio in Upstate New York with producer/engineer Markus Magnusson. "Purgatory" was released on July 24, 2015, by AFM Records. It features guest vocals from Michael Lepond of Symphony X on the track "The Great Deceiver".
