Universal is the eighth album by Norwegian black metal band Borknagar, released in 2010. It marked a return to a more melodic and progressive sound following their previous, more experimental album, Origin.
- The album was recorded at Studio Duper and the Duper sessions were engineered by Jens Bogren. It was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden.
- Universal features guest vocals from ICS Vortex of Arcturus and a guitar solo by Ihsahn of Emperor on the track "The Rhyme of the Mountain".
- The album reached number 14 on the Norwegian music charts.
Borknagar is a black metal supergroup founded in Bergen, Norway in 1995. The band is known for its blend of progressive and folk influences within the black metal genre.
