The second of two albums released by Brainbombs in 1999, "Urge to Kill" further cemented their reputation for raw, distorted, and often punishingly heavy music. The album arrived at a time when the band was at their most prolific, delivering a no-holds-barred slab of extreme rock.
- "Urge to Kill" was recorded in just two days at Sunlight Studios in Stockholm. The album was produced by Tomas Skogsberg, known for his work with Entombed and Dismember. It was released on the independent label Load Records.
- The album features guest vocals from Jyrki 69 of the Finnish band The 69 Eyes on the track "In the Fire". While not a commercial success, "Urge to Kill" has since become a cult favorite among fans of extreme metal.
- In 2014, the album was reissued on CD and vinyl by the Swedish label Annihilator Records. The reissue included remastered audio and expanded artwork.
