- The album was recorded at the Capitol Theatre, Tamworth, NSW on 10 and 11 June 1984. This tour supported the band's fifth studio album, *Twisted Black Logic*. This release is the third in a series of archival live albums.
- This is the third release in the Live Tapes series, following Vol. 1 (2013) and Vol. 2 (2014). The recordings were made during the *Twisted Black Logic* tour. The album was released on 2 December 2016.
- Cold Chisel were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1993. The band has released eight studio albums and multiple live albums. This archival recording showcases the band at the height of their powers in the mid-1980s.
