Comecon's 1992 release "Megatrends in Brutality" is a prime example of the melodic death metal sound that was developing in the early 90s. It featured a more refined production than many of their contemporaries.
- The album was recorded at Sunlight Studio in Stockholm, Sweden, with producer Tomas Skogsberg. It was the band's only full-length album. The album was reissued in 2006 by No Colours Records.
- The album charted at number 27 on the Finnish Top 40 album chart in its initial release week.
- Century Media Records, the label that released the album, was founded in Germany in 1988 and has since become one of the leading independent metal labels.
Comecon was a Finnish death metal band formed in 1989. They were active during the early 1990s Swedish and Finnish death metal scene.
