
This album followed their explosive arrival on the scene with 'On Tour with Eric Clapton,' showcasing a slightly more laid-back, yet still potent, blend of rock, soul, and blues. It features contributions from many of the same musicians who had backed them on their previous, more high-profile release.
- Recorded in Memphis in 1970, 'Motel Shot' was the duo's third album released in the US. The album reached number 73 on the Billboard 200 chart. It was their final album released on the Atlantic Records label.
- Motel Shot' was produced by the duo themselves, with the help of long-time associate Bruce Botnick. Gregg Allman and Gram Parsons were among the notable musicians who contributed to the sessions.
- The album was reissued on CD in 1993 with bonus tracks, including alternate takes and previously unreleased material from the same sessions.
Delaney & Bonnie were a husband-and-wife duo from Los Angeles, known for their soulful blend of blues, rock, and gospel. They fronted a band that became a launching pad for numerous notable musicians during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
