Babylon

rhythm and bluesbluesfunk

The second album from Dr. John, "Babylon" was recorded in 1968 during the sessions for Gris-Gris, but held back for a 1969 release. It captures a similarly mystical and raw sound, with a heavy emphasis on voodoo-inflected themes and a loose, improvisational feel.

Dr. John, the legendary musician from New Orleans, is most famous for his unique blend of psychedelic rock, funk, and New Orleans R&B. At the time of "Babylon," he was establishing his signature sound and persona in the late 1960s music scene.
