The first single from The Seldom Seen Kid, "Grounds for Divorce" found Elbow embracing a widescreen, stadium-sized sound, complete with a roaring cowbell and a surprisingly menacing edge.

Elbow is a band from Bury, Greater Manchester, England, formed in 1990. They are known for their anthemic indie rock sound and poetic lyrics. The band released "Grounds for Divorce" in 2008, preceding their Mercury Prize-winning album The Seldom Seen Kid. The single showcased a shift towards a more expansive, stadium-ready sound, which would become a hallmark of their subsequent work.
