- The album reached number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. It also charted at number 3 on the R&B Albums chart. The lead single, "Don't Let Go (Love)," became their highest-charting single in years.
- EV3 was the first album to feature the quartet lineup of Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones, Terry Ellis, and new member Rhona Bennett. The album was produced by multiple producers including DJ Premier, Rodney Jerkins, and Mark "Spike" Lee.
- "Don't Let Go (Love)" was featured on the soundtrack to the 1996 film Set It Off. The song peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 1 on the R&B charts.
En Vogue formed in Oakland, California, in 1989. The group is a vocal quartet known for R&B and soul music. En Vogue’s 1997 album "EV3" was released mid-career, following the departure of member Dawn Robinson.
