Domino’s second album for Imperial Records, “Let’s Play Fats Domino,” offered a re-recording of his early hits. This release arrived just as his commercial momentum began to wane.
- The album was reissued in 1961 by Regal Records. Some sources list the label as Supreme Media, others as Imperial Records. The album did not chart.
- This release features re-recordings of "The Big Beat" and "Ain't That a Shame". These were re-recorded with less of the raw energy of the originals.
- The album was released in September 1959, the same month that Domino’s single "Young and Healthy" was released. He would soon leave Imperial Records for ABC-Paramount.
Fats Domino was a New Orleans R&B and rock and roll pianist and singer. By 1959, he was one of the most successful artists of the previous decade, with a string of chart-toppers.
