This 1992 album, released on Genlyd, is a seminal work in the development of IDM and trip-hop. Fielfraz's innovative use of synthesizers and drum machines on "Electric Eel" set a new standard for electronic music production.
- "Electric Eel" was recorded and produced entirely by Fielfraz in his personal studio. The album's distinctive sound was achieved through the extensive use of a Roland TR-808 drum machine and a Korg M1 synthesizer. It charted at number 15 on the Danish Electronic Music chart.
- The album's cover art, a stark black and white photograph of an electric eel, was designed by Danish artist Claus Bonde. The track "PhaserPhantasy" was famously sampled by the British group The Orb on their 1993 album "Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld."
- Upon its release, "Electric Eel" received critical acclaim from publications such as Mixmag and The Wire, though it was largely ignored by mainstream press. It is now considered a foundational text in the IDM canon.
