Medicine at Midnight was a surprisingly brief, danceable, and at times surprisingly funky album from a band not previously known for such explorations. It was also their last with longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins.
- The album was originally intended to be a much darker, heavier record called "Monsters of Cancer," but the COVID-19 pandemic and the death of Taylor Hawkins' mother led the band to rework it into its final form.
- Medicine at Midnight debuted at number 3 on the UK Albums Chart and number 10 on the US Billboard 200.
- The album's single "Shame Shame" was the first Foo Fighters song to feature a prominent R&B-influenced beat and groove.
Foo Fighters is a rock band formed in 1994 by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. They are one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the 21st century.
