"(No Pussyfooting)" is the first of two albums by Fripp & Eno, a landmark collaboration in the development of ambient music and tape loop techniques. It originated from sessions intended to create new material for King Crimson.
- The album's title is a reference to the "No Pussyfooting" instruction on the Revox tape machines used, meaning the tape heads were not engaged, thus preventing accidental recording over existing tracks.
- The tape loops created for "The Heavenly Music Corporation" were so long that they had to be played on two synchronized Revox tape recorders.
- This album was recorded at Command Studios in London and Olympic Studios in Barnes, England, with engineer Steve Nye.
Fripp & Eno are the duo of Robert Fripp, guitarist and founder of King Crimson, and Brian Eno, electronic music pioneer and producer. They collaborated on a series of influential ambient albums in the 1970s.
