Funkadelic's 1970 debut, "Free Your Mind... and Your Ass Will Follow," delivered a raw, unvarnished psychedelic funk sound that was as confrontational as it was exploratory. It established George Clinton's project as a vital, boundary-pushing force in late 20th-century Black music.
