- "Close As You Get" was recorded live at The Whitla Hall in Belfast on 17 December 2006. The album was released on Eagle Records on 25 May 2007. It features a selection of blues standards and Moore's own compositions.
- The album reached number 12 on the blues charts in the UK. It was Moore's first live album released in several years.
- The setlist included live versions of "Out in the Fields" and "Still Got the Blues." Moore was backed by a full band including organ and a horn section.
Gary Moore was a guitarist from Northern Ireland known for his work in Thin Lizzy and his solo career exploring blues, hard rock, and R&B. In 2007, he released "Close as You Get," a blues-rock album, following a period of renewed focus on his blues roots.
