The band's final single, "Valley of the Dolls," saw them explore a more polished, arena-ready sound that alienated some of their early punk following.

Generation X were a West London punk rock band formed in 1974, fronted by Billy Idol. They were known for their energetic live shows and distinctive image. Generation X released "Valley of the Dolls" in 1979, towards the end of their recording career.
