The Danish group's 2021 album "Seek Shelter" saw them leaning further into melodic post-punk, incorporating strings and a more expansive sound palette. It was their first release on the Mexican Summer label.
- "Seek Shelter" was produced by Nick Terry, who has also worked with The Libertines and The Darkness. The album was recorded in Copenhagen, Denmark. Iceage collaborated with string arrangements from the Asynja string quartet on the album.
- The album's release was preceded by the singles "Lockdown" and "The Holding Flame." The former, released in January 2021, addressed themes of isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- "Seek Shelter" charted at number 16 on the UK's Official Vinyl Albums Chart and number 24 on the Official Independent Albums Chart. Music videos were released for "Lockdown," "The Holding Flame," and "Shelter Song."
Iceage is a Danish punk band formed in 2001, known for their abrasive sound and evolving musical style. "Seek Shelter" arrived at a time when the band was further refining their post-punk and noise rock influences.
