The group's first post-X Factor single, "Beat Again" debuted at Number 1 on the UK Singles Chart.
- "Beat Again" was the first single by JLS to be released. The song was released by Sony Music CG on 12 July 2009. JLS would go on to release their debut studio album JLS later the same year.
- The song was co-written by JLS members Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, J. B. Gill, and Oritse Williams, along with songwriter and producer Wayne Wilkins. Wilkins had previously worked with Usher and Cheryl Cole.
- "Beat Again" topped the UK Singles Chart upon release, selling over 130,000 copies in its first week. It was the first single by a runner-up of The X Factor to reach Number 1.
JLS are a Hackney, East London-based group who rose to fame as the runners-up on the fifth series of The X Factor. Their debut single "Beat Again" was released in the midst of their burgeoning fame following their X Factor success.
