• "Little by Little" was recorded on July 26, 1960, at Universal Recording Studio in Chicago. The session was produced by Mel London. "Come On in This House" was recorded on July 28, 1960, also at Universal Recording Studio. The single was released in October 1960 on Profile Records.
• The A-side, "Little by Little," reached number 12 on the Billboard R&B chart. It was later re-recorded by Wells with Buddy Guy for the seminal 1970 album 'Play the Blues'.
