Black Bach

soulr&bfunk

This 1976 album saw Dozier trading his signature Motown polish for a more direct, funk-inflected sound, laying the groundwork for his lean, sophisticated 1977 album 'Pride & Joy'.

Lamont Dozier is a Detroit soul songwriter and singer, one of the principal architects of the Motown sound in the 1960s. "Black Bach" was his first album for Warner/Geffen, released after his departure from ABC Records and a period of less commercially successful solo work.
