Malcolm Middleton is a Scottish musician, best known as a member of the experimental indie band Mogwai and for his solo work in electronic and indie rock. "Waxing Gibbous" arrived during a period of prolific solo output for Middleton, following the acclaimed "Five Early Songs" and preceding the more collaborative "Ballad of the Broken Seas."
