Mulatu Astatke is a vibraphone, keyboard, and organ virtuoso from Ethiopia, widely regarded as the father of Ethio-jazz. In 2009, with the release of "New York–Addis–London," Astatke was experiencing a career resurgence, finding new audiences decades after his initial innovations.
