The Importance of Being Idle

Big Brother Recordings LtdSee this day

"The Importance of Being Idle" was the second single released from Oasis's sixth studio album, *Don't Believe the Truth*. The track showcased a more mature, soul-influenced sound for the band, diverging from their earlier anthemic rock.

Oasis were an English rock band from Manchester, formed in 1991. They were a key act in the Britpop movement of the mid-1990s, best known for their anthemic songs and Gallagher brothers' sibling rivalry. At the time of "The Importance of Being Idle," Oasis were nearing the end of their major label run, having released their penultimate album, *Don't Believe the Truth*, earlier that year.
