This 2013 EP captures of Montreal in a transitional period, offering a collection of tracks that bridge the gap between his more experimental work and his established pop sensibilities. It features a more concise, song-focused approach than some of his recent efforts.
- "The Bird Who Continues to Eat the Rabbit's Flower" was released on September 17, 2013, by Polyvinyl.
- The EP was released between the albums *Paralytic Stalks* (2012) and *Aureate Gloom* (2015).
- The release features artwork by Rebekah Hale and bandleader Kevin Barnes.
of Montreal is the long-running, prolific indie pop project of Athens, Georgia's Kevin Barnes. Since the late 1990s, Barnes has explored a kaleidoscopic range of styles, from twee-pop to psychedelic funk to art-rock. In 2013, with *The Bird Who Continues to Eat the Rabbit's Flower*, of Montreal was between the comparatively restrained *Paralytic Stalks* and the more ambitious rock opera *Aureate Gloom*.
