Dazzle Ships

synth-popnew wave

Dazzle Ships saw Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark push their electronic palette into more challenging, avant-garde territory, incorporating spoken word samples and abstract soundscapes. It stands as a deliberately uncommercial counterpoint to the band's more accessible hits.

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark is a British synth-pop group formed in Wirral, England in 1978. They are known for their pioneering use of electronic sounds and emotionally resonant songwriting. In 1983, OMD was at a creative peak, having recently released the chart-topping Architecture & Morality and were exploring more experimental sonic territories with Dazzle Ships.
