Beets reimagines the Gershwin songbook with a modern jazz sensibility on this 2019 studio album. The pianist navigates the familiar melodies with a refined touch and a clear, melodic improvisational style.
- The album was recorded in one day at Power Sound Studio in Amsterdam. Producer Theo de Jong is also credited with percussion on the album. It reached number 10 on the Jazz FM album chart in the Netherlands.
- The album features a quartet with special guestsidy. It was released on Beets' own Magic Ball Jazz Records label.
- Beets' previous album, 'Chocolates,' was a commercial success. This album marked a return to a more traditional jazz repertoire for Beets.
