Prefab Sprout's eighth album, "Crimson/Red," arrived in 2013 after a decade-long absence. It was their first album composed entirely of new songs since 2001's "The Nude."
- "Crimson/Red" was the first Prefab Sprout album to be released on the Embassy of Music label. It was recorded between 2007 and 2011 at Souvenir Studios in Hamburg. The album reached number 78 on the German album charts.
- The album was produced by Paddy McAloon and Ken Bruce. McAloon wrote all the songs and played most of the instruments. The album was not released in the UK, only in Germany.
- After the release of "Crimson/Red," Prefab Sprout did not tour or release any further material. The album's reception was generally positive among critics.
