Premiata Forneria Marconi is an Italian progressive rock band formed in Milan in 1970. They are one of the most internationally successful Italian rock bands, known for their complex compositions and a unique blend of rock, classical, and folk influences. In 1981, PFM were navigating the transition away from the complex, orchestral arrangements of their earlier work towards more contemporary rock and pop structures. They had recently left Manticore Records and were exploring new sonic territories with RCA.
