This 2012 reissue of Ride's 1990 debut album "Nowhere" arrived just as the band was beginning to reconvene for live performances. It marked the first time the album was available on CD in the US.
- The album was recorded at various London studios, including the Church, Courtyard, and Home, with producer Alan Moulder. It reached number 11 on the UK Albums Chart upon its initial release in 1990. Lead single "Vapour Trail" remains one of their most enduring tracks.
- The original album, known for its lush, effects-laden soundscapes, is considered a landmark of the shoegaze genre. Its release was preceded by three successful EPs.
- This reissue coincided with a period of renewed interest in shoegaze, with many bands from the era reforming and new artists emerging. The "Nowhere" reissue featured remastered audio and expanded track listings.
Ride hailed from Oxford, England, and were a leading light of the early 1990s shoegaze scene. In 2012, the band had been inactive for over a decade, with members pursuing other projects.
