- The original song, "Rhythm of the Rain," was a 1962 hit for the American group The Cascades. De Nijs's Dutch version reached number one on the Dutch singles chart. The single was released on the small Cliff Records label.
- The B-side to the single was "Jij bent mijn alles" (You are my everything). De Nijs would go on to have many more hits in the Netherlands.
- The translation and arrangement were handled by Boudewijn de Groot and René Gaag. De Nijs's version was released on March 14, 1963.
