Traoré's third album, "Tchamantché," finds the Malian artist exploring a more expansive musical palette, incorporating French and English lyrics alongside her native Bambara, and adding subtle jazz and blues inflections to her signature Afro-pop sound.

Malian singer-songwriter Rokia Traoré is a singular voice in West African music, known for her distinctive blend of traditional Mandé influences and contemporary sounds. In 2008, with "Tchamantché," she had already established herself as a prominent figure, moving beyond the Bambara-language recordings of her earlier work.
