Clockwork Angels is Rush's first album of new material in seven years, a concept album that returned to the band's progressive rock roots. It was their final studio album, released in 2012.
- Clockwork Angels was produced by Nick Raskulinecz and Rush, with additional arrangements by the Black Russian String Orchestra. The album reached number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 1 on the Canadian album chart. It was the band's highest-charting album in the UK, reaching number 21.
- The album's narrative, written by Neil Peart and his co-writer/colleague, Jason Elias, tells the story of a young man's journey through a steampunk-influenced world. The initial tracks were recorded at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, with strings and additional overdubs completed at Revolution Recording in Toronto.
- The album was preceded by the single "Caravan," released on June 10, 2012, alongside "BU2B." Both tracks were also featured on the band's 2012 Time Machine Tour. Clockwork Angels was Rush's first album released on the Roadrunner Records label.
Rush was a Canadian rock band formed in Toronto in 1968, known for their progressive rock sound and epic lyrical themes. Clockwork Angels was released late in their career, following a period of relative quiet after their Snakes & Arrows album and tour.
