This is the second studio album by the American hard rock band Sixx:A.M. It was released in 2011, following their debut album The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack in 2007.
- The album's title track, "This Is Gonna Hurt", was released as a single in 2011. The album reached number 26 on the Billboard 200 chart. It was produced by Sixx:A.M. and mixed by record producer and engineer Mike Clink.
- The album features guest appearances by Slash, and it was recorded at two studios: The House of Heavy in Los Angeles, California, and the Sound Lab in Las Vegas, Nevada. This Is Gonna Hurt is the only album by the band to feature guitarist DJ Ashba.
- The album was re-recorded by the band in 2016 and released as a double album with a second album of acoustic versions. The album charted at number 26 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and number 9 on the U.S. Hard Rock Albums chart. The album was produced by Sixx:A.M.
Nikki Sixx is best known as the bassist and co-founder of Mötley Crüe, and as the co-founder of the alternative rock band 5/11. Sixx:A.M. was formed in 2007 with Mötley Crüe drummer DJ Ashba and Mötley Crüe bandmate James Michael.
