SOAK's debut captures the sound of a young artist processing the world with startling maturity, blending indie rock and dream pop elements into a sound that is uniquely their own.
- Recorded in spring 2014 at RAK Studios in London, the album was produced by My Bloody Valentine collaborator M.I.A. and Mercury Prize winner John Congleton.
- The album reached number 43 on the UK Albums Chart and was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2015.
- The album title is taken from a line in the 1951 novel 'The Old Man and the Sea' by Ernest Hemingway.
SOAK is the project of Bridie Monds-Watson, a musician from Northern Ireland who writes and performs indie rock and dream pop. Monds-Watson released this debut album at age 19, shortly after signing to Rough Trade Records.
