Released in 2004, "Borrowed Heaven" continued The Corrs' signature blend of folk-infused pop-rock, though it marked a shift towards a more mature sound and was their final album on the Atlantic Records label.

The Corrs are a multi-platinum-selling Irish folk-rock group from Dundalk, County Louth, consisting of a sister and three brothers. They are best known for blending traditional Irish musical influences with a contemporary pop-rock sound, achieving significant international success in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In 2004, "Borrowed Heaven" arrived as the group's fourth studio album, following a four-year gap since their last release and amid a period of intense solo activity for lead singer Andrea Corr.
