The Kingston Trio's 1961 album Close-Up featured a more mature sound than their earlier work. The album reached number 12 on the Billboard charts.

- Close-Up was the Kingston Trio's last album to reach the top 40 of the Billboard charts. The group would go on to release several more albums in the 1960s, but none would achieve the same level of commercial success.
