The band's third studio album, "The Bedlam in Goliath," is a sprawling, ambitious work that saw the band push their signature sound into even more experimental and chaotic territory. The Mars Volta are a progressive rock band from El Paso, Texas, known for their dense, abstract, and often lengthy compositions. In 2006, they were at a commercial and creative peak, following the success of their previous album, "De-Loused in the Comatorium."
