Ramsey Lewis’s “Barefoot Sunday Blues” is a prime example of the tight, bluesy, and accessible trio interplay that made him a household name. The single showcases the organ-heavy sound that would soon define Lewis’s chart-topping work.

The Ramsey Lewis Trio was a jazz piano trio formed in Chicago in the late 1950s. They became one of the most commercially successful jazz groups of the 1960s.
