Ravedeath, 1972

electronicambient

The 2011 album pushes Hecker's signature sound into starker, more monolithic territories, drawing on the textures of organs and decaying tape loops to create a uniquely chilling ambience.

Tim Hecker is a Canadian electronic musician and composer from Halifax, Nova Scotia, known for his textural, noisy, and often beatless ambient works. Ravedeath, 1972 arrived in the midst of a prolific period for Hecker, following 2009's 'Harmony in Ultraviolet' and preceding 2013's 'Virgins'.
