The band's 1969 single "Hallelujah" is a near-seven-minute psychedelic blues jam that became a centerpiece of their live performances. It was released as a single but also appeared on their 1970 live album 'Live at the Kaleidoscope.'

Canned Heat formed in Los Angeles in 1965, a blues-rock band known for their boogie rhythms and harmonica. By 1969, they were at the height of their commercial success, having appeared at the Monterey Pop Festival two years prior.
