This 1968 collection of blues covers and originals found Canned Heat leaning further into their R&B roots, offering a rawer counterpoint to their more psychedelic output.

Canned Heat formed in Los Angeles in 1965, initially built around blues-influenced guitar work and harmonica. The band’s early success with “On the Road Again” and “Going Up the Country” had established them as festival favorites and standard-bearers for a blues-rock revival.
