In 2016, Gong was a revived version of the band led by guitarist Steve Hillage and bassist Mike Howlett, featuring many musicians who had played with Allen in previous Gong lineups and other Canterbury scene bands. "Rejoice! I'm Dead!" was released during this later period of the band's career.
