A landmark electronic album composed and performed entirely by Mike Oldfield, Amarok is a single 60-minute piece exploring a vast sonic landscape. It was conceived as a continuous work, intended to be played loud.

Mike Oldfield is a British multi-instrumentalist and composer, best known for his 1973 debut album Tubular Bells. Amarok was released in the midst of his prolific period with Virgin Records, following a string of successful albums and prior to his exploration of more overtly world music-influenced sounds.
