Music from Siesta

Warner JazzSee this day

Recorded in 1985 and released in 1987, Siesta is a collaborative effort that features Davis alongside a large ensemble performing music from the soundtrack to the film of the same name.

Miles Davis was a jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and composer, born in Illinois and later based in New York City, who led the way in multiple jazz eras, including bebop, cool jazz, hard bop, and jazz fusion. By 1987, Davis was a celebrated elder statesman of jazz, releasing a string of albums for Warner Jazz that explored more contemporary R&B and funk-influenced sounds.
