Hamas Cinema Gaza Strip

StaalplaatSee this day

A posthumous release from the prolific Muslimgauze, Hamas Cinema Gaza Strip features the artist's signature blend of Middle Eastern samples, dub-infused rhythms, and heavy, processed beats. The album stands as a raw and intense example of Jones's later work.

Muslimgauze was the recording name of Bryn Jones, a prolific Manchester-based electronic musician whose work explored the political landscape of the Middle East through a drone-and-rhythm-focused lens. He released over 90 albums during his lifetime, with many more appearing posthumously. Hamas Cinema Gaza Strip was released in 2002, some five years after Jones's death, on the Dutch label Staalplaat, known for its experimental and often politically charged electronic music.
