This 1970 release finds Coleman stretching out on a set of standards, a comparatively restrained effort following his explorations with electric instrumentation. It features a unique chamber jazz lineup of reeds, strings, and percussion.

Ornette Coleman was a pioneering American saxophonist and composer, largely associated with the free jazz movement. He came to prominence in the late 1950s and early 1960s with his radical approach to jazz improvisation.
